Music Director

As the Music Director here, I am passionate about creating meaningful musical experiences that enrich our worship and connect us on a spiritual level. With a background in musical performance and direction, I believe in the power of melody and harmony to uplift hearts and inspire our faith journey. I am delighted to share my gifts with the United Heritage Church community.

Before that, she was a Program Administrator for the Partners in Mission Unit at the United Church General Council Office in Toronto.  Heather grew up in the United Church – she was baptised at First United in Corner Brook, NL, and confirmed at Walton United in Oakville, ON.  Outside her office duties, you might spot her in her garden, or on stage at the Highland Arts Theatre or the Boardmore Playhouse.

Our Faith

We are a community of faith from diverse backgrounds, an inclusive people living in respect, fellowship and hope; a welcoming and caring people of God.

Our Mission is to envision, create and promote a welcoming community, putting God at the centre, seeking spiritual growth, education and sustainable development, respectfully reaching out to those in need, sharing our gifts and joy with everyone.

History of Our Church

United Heritage Church is the union of two denominations and the amalgamation of four separate congregations. In 2014 St. Andrew’s United Church and First United Church in Sydney, Trinity United Church in Whitey Pier, and the United Baptist Church officially amalgamated. We made our new home on 500 Charlotte Street  in the church constructed by Sydney’s Baptist community  in 1918.

We are a “uniting” church. Today our faith community has people from all faith backgrounds who have found a home with us. We see this variety of religious experiences and background as our strength.

COME WORSHIP WITH US

We meet at 10:30 Sunday mornings.  Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in our service.

The main entry is on the corner of Townsend and Charlotte street at the big double doors.  There are two flights from the street level to the sanctuary.

Full accessibility is offered with elevator service on the Townsend street side, where an attendant will operate the lift upon request.
